Pet Professors was founded in 2010 when Tabetha, owner and Lead Pet Professor, started walking dogs and providing in-home pet care. Since then, the business has transformed into the science-based, positive reinforcement training service it is today. Pet Professors believes in teaching people the “why” behind training so Pet Parents can be empowered to problem-solve any behavior. Pet Professors believes that training should be fun for both the Pet Parent and their Canine Companion. To achieve this, Pet Professors teaches Pet Parents how and when to use a clicker, a small device that makes a noise, to effectively communicate with our pets. When used properly, and paired with other reinforcers like treats, the clicker has been demonstrated to be a fast, efficient manner of training. Likewise, positive reinforcement training has been demonstrated to reduce stress in the animals we train. Pet Professors believes that when we have an active participant in learning, the learning becomes fun and our companions will work with us, rather than against us. Most importantly, Pet Professors believes in lifelong learning and loves passing along this knowledge to our clients!
